• The Control of Error: authentic Montessori materials are designed with a built-in mechanical feedback loop known as the control of error. If a child makes a mistake while working with the Cylinder Blocks or skip counting the Bead Chains, the material itself shows them the error and naturally leads the child to try again. Teachers assess if they are discovering the fix themselves or if they need an additional lesson. 

• The Freedom to Try Again: Here, mistakes are framed as natural, valuable data points in the learning process. • Respect for Personal Timelines: We respect that children have varying internal tempos. Even identical twins one-year-olds won’t begin walking on the same day. If a child needs to spend an entire morning focusing deeply on a single geography puzzle to fully integrate the concepts, they are permitted to do so. This respect for their individual timeline signals to the child that their personal developmental needs are respected and valid.
