Nina Chezem is a Primary Teacher Assistant at Wheaton Montessori School.
Nina joined Mrs. Christine McClelland's classroom in September 2025. She has experience as an Assistant Guide in a Montessori school, served as a counselor at a youth camp, and provided attentive care as a child caregiver.
Nina has attended Valparaiso University with a focus on meteorology.
Nina has spent the last two years enamored with the Montessori method and has employed her passion by helping young children grow as learners and as individuals.
When not in the classroom, you can find Nina enjoying creative hobbies, such as crochet, painting, and jewelry making, as well as musical hobbies like playing the cello and guitar, and singing in her church choir. She can also be found catching up with friends, playing with her dog Clover, or playing Dungeons and Dragons.
Nina's favorite childhood memory about school is spending time in the orchestra room in high school before the first bell, talking to close friends. Her favorite children's book is Bear Snores On by Karma Wilson because of how animated the librarian at her elementary school was when she read it aloud. One teacher Nina would like to thank is Mrs. Cella, her third-grade teacher, who was the first teacher to notice that Nina thought differently from some of the other children and helped her get on the right academic path. This changed the course of Nina's life on the whole and set her up for success, and led her to where she is today.
