Christine McClelland is a Primary Teacher at Wheaton Montessori School.
Christine began working at Wheaton Montessori School in 2012 and started her primary classroom community in 2016. She earned an AMI primary diploma from the Montessori Training Center of St. Louis, where she learned from the incredible Dr. Annette Haines. She earned an additional AMI certificate for working with special learners from the Maria Montessori Institute of London in 2023.
Her two children’s attendance at Wheaton Montessori School was the inspiration for her to train to become an AMI-certified instructor after a sixteen year career teaching preschool-high school Spanish in traditional schools and as an ESL instructor at College of DuPage.
Christine has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History/Latin American Studies from the College of the Holy Cross, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Aurora University, and holds state certification in high school Spanish and other subjects and grade levels. In addition to being a primary teacher, she teaches Spanish in the Adolescent Community.
Christine enjoys road trips, travel, walking, reading, yoga, attending her young adult children’s art shows and theatre performances, visiting her family in Boston, and caring for her many pets.
