When not in the classroom, you can find Mariam enjoying long walks in the park, listening to various podcasts, or spending quality time with family. Her favorite childhood memory is from her time living in Wisconsin. Her parents would take her and her siblings to what she considers the most splendid library: the West Allis Public Library. Her favorite book is "The Boy, The Mole, The Fox, and The Horse" by Charlie Mackesy. Her favorite teacher was Sr. Yasmine, her Islamic Studies and Arabic teacher from middle to high school. She always viewed Sr. Yasmine as a role model; her mannerisms, responses, and actions reflected her admirable character. Additionally, her favorite food is pizza.
